Timothy Furgal is an award-winning librarian, poet, and mental health advocate living in Southern California.
A finalist for the 2009 Ann Stanford Poetry Prize at the University of Southern California, Timothy Furgal believes in happiness. With his heart in Upstate New York and his feet in Southern California, he feels most at home in open, quiet spaces.
Timothy was honored by the American Library Association as a Class of 2022 Emerging Leader. He is currently working on an Institute of Museum and Library Services Laura Bush 21st Century Applied Research Grant in partnership with Syracuse University and the New York Library Association.
When he isn’t working as a librarian, Tim volunteers as a trained peer-to-peer support group facilitator through the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance. He enjoys running, tennis, spending time with his large, squishy nephews, and volunteering in his community.
